This hollow body has become weary
The light is fading from my once strong heart,
Days are longer now that I’ve felt the pain
In a way my soul has been ripped apart.
I think of this day like it was to be my last
The night-time song as it will be no more,
My thoughts of family and friends run deep
As though they to me can rebuild and restore.
Maybe not today, nor tomorrow I wither
But one day soon I believe I will go,
Leaving behind some things so precious
Of passion, loyalty and love nobody will know.
Above all in this whole world today
My legacy will carry on through time,
For my life fulfilled as within a dream
This is the last of this poets rhyme.

Look into this day with all your faith
For extra measure use that of your soul,
Because unto the night which does come
The battle will begin for total control.
From this time to that time that has passed
The journey will take you to the end,
For within this place covered by night
A message to the future you will send.
Look into the night with all your hope
And a little touch of deep loving care,
For tomorrow will bring something new
Or whatever is the easiest to bare.
Time will be the judge for our mortal kind
As eternity will see us through another day,
Until this moment when we shall see
In heaven, or on Earth, here we shall play.

When you take up your arms this day
Do it in a name that you truly believe,
For tomorrow the battle will begin
And no forgiveness will ever relieve.
Remember the love you once had
The desire and passion you once sought,
But for life of a reassuring heart to hold
It was an eternity in hell that you have bought.

I look beyond the barrier of pain
Into the face of death itself,
For if I look straight into its eyes
The better it will be for my health.
Many a night I’ve sat up to wait
Twiddling my thumbs in time,
It’s presence before me I sense
Passing judgement on my crime.
Of time and space I build my hopes
Though all is lost in a collapsing star,
Where once life enriched the earth
Our loss shall be marked by a scar.
Of this world which I now choose
Let my crimes and sin’s be cast,
Allow this day my daily bread
And leave events of the past in the past.

They are the one’s that bring the light
That mighty starlight, star bright,
The one’s that force away the darkness
Bringing the day time from the night.
They are the protector’s of our dawn
The guardian’s who bring the day,
For their protection is our great need
So our children can find their way.
The darkness we see as evil
The light we must always fuel,
For if the darkness defeats the day
Then evil will forever rule.
Human life will bow to menace
Our eyes blinded by the slightest spark,
Each soul in turn will wither and die
Because light was defeated by the dark.
So together we stand against this foe
Strength in numbers unlike before,
When darkness tried hard to take us
But for that beacon of light secure.
And with a glass raised high I smile
For the keepers of the light I know,
Life is for those with untainted hearts
And soul’s as pure as the white driven snow.
